| The English and Scottish games were excellent, much better than
most of the 5 Nations games. I think these games were a good
advert for moving the Championship back from the depths of a British
winter to the end of the season when the weather would be more con-
ducive to good Rugby.
It's alarming how many players are already out of the World Cup
Rose, Hall, Rutherford, James and Harbison. What's happening with
Bainbridge, is he out or in?
England can claim to have had the game taken away from them, for
once with justification, I think. Campese's try was given in error,
and then the fine try scored just after that seemed to come when
the English heads were down after the bad decision. However, as
they are going to play Ireland or Wales anyway, it's academic.

| My younger brother's gone out to NZ to see some Scotland games.
He reckons one game (Scotland v. Zimbabwe) may be only attended by
3 men and a dog (and was threatening to rent a dog to fulfil the
prophecy). If any Kiwi readers of this file see a balding hippy
accountant, in his 30s, with a dog at the game, say hi...

| Leaprechauns know a good game when they see it.
The Scotland v France game was a terrific spectacle, and I thoroughly
enjoyed it. The disallowed French try was a failure on the behalf
of the line judge ( who wasn't up with the play). On the other hand
Scotland missed the conversion at the end of the game, so justice
was done. Scotland are to be congratulated for their refusal to
accept defeat and their last minute try was deserved. I would be
delighted to see either team in the final (against Ireland of course).
Snake would like to see the whole thing pick up.
