131.0. "Irish Cultural Institute Lecture" by TALLIS::DARCY (George @Littleton Mass USA) Tue Feb 10 1987 22:27
Advertised in ducas, The Newsletter of the Irish American
Cultural Institute:
February's Irish Perception speaker, Des Lavelle, is an authority
on the fascinating archaeology, history, seabird, and marine life
of the Skelligs Islands off the Co. Kerry coast.
Lavelle's talk, illustrated by color slides, will explore the wonders
of the Skelligs, including the sixth century monastic site built
on a rock 600 feet above sea level, the thousands of sea birds that
make the islannds an ornithological paradise, the seals and sharks,
the history and the folklore of this austere outpost of Ireland.
Confirmed dates for Des Lavelle's itinerary include the following.
