87.0. "Houlihan's\" by DUBSWS::D_OSULLIVAN () Fri Oct 10 1986 13:51

What's this Hooley_hands place like? Is it a genuine New England
bar like the one in the 'Cheers` TV series?

It's the hangout of Burns, Topaz, myself, and the girls from
the Breakwind. Angus serves Guinness and harp on tap and makes
delicious fish and chips. Gerry sings the same songs over and
over again and we all get pissed and contrive new toasts to
	each other.

It's also a mandatory stop-over of ANYONE visiting from home.

We'll be there for a Snake Acclimation Activity this Saturday
evening if you'd like to join us. See MTV::NETPARTY and note
	15.3 for directions.

Rumour has it that Snake, Topaz, Burns and myself will be
christened the Four Greenfields. (Not to be confused with the
song of the same name or the Jewish law firm of the same name)

	Up Cork!

Oh for Christ's sake - somebody warn the Snake before he recoils
in disgust. We're not having him back here if he brings those
    chemicals along with him.

Having been to Houlihans last Saturday I can confirm that it is
    an unique Irish bar!

The audience participation is, as yee Americans would say, something
else. The high point of it being in that song where the old dog
turns round seven times before dropping dead; and then Mr Topaz, to
the surprise of all who know him counts to seven in a very clear voice.
Its just as well the old dog didn't make it to eleven
times, otherwise Topaz would have had to take off his socks!

    As for Burns, Topaz and Foley in the chorus of "Seven Drunken Nights";
I've never heard it sung with such feeling. It could only come from
    men of experience.

'twaz a great night and my thanks to all the above
mentioned for the crack and the failte.

Houlihans is not a bad place on a Wednesday night either, in the
    right company.

    Leaprechauns were reminiscing.

    Re .10

Having my leftovers, were we Willie??

Its nice to know that you enjoyed yourself in that particular company.
How was the ashtray abuse syndrome ??
Strange that Mr. Topaz could count up to seven, did you check out
what exactly he was drinking ?? :-)

Wednesday's were good as well, huh?, I didn't know you were an
    authority on jugs Willie. :-)

Snake will return (some other prick plagarised that remark).
