60.1 | How bout once a year? | RHETT::MCABEE | Can I just do it 'til I need glasses? | Wed Jul 23 1986 17:08 | 10 |
| I live in Atlanta, but I'd like to jam when I'm in the area. I
I usually play guitar, but when I travel, I take a whistle and
fiddle or mandolin.
My ancestors came over from Ireland in colonial times, but,
according to an aging aunt, my blood is still mostly Irish and
I do admit to feeling it. Celtic music is one of my greatest loves.

60.2 | Give it Stick !! | ENGGSG::BURNS | It's a long way from Clare to here | Thu Jul 24 1986 11:58 | 18 |

I think that "The Black Rose" (742-2286) and "The Purple Shamrock"
(227-2060), both located by Quincy Market in Downtown Boston, they
use to have informal jam sessions on weekends ???
Another place to try is "The Kinvara Pub", 34 Harvard Ave, Allston
Mass. (254-9737) ??
Then again, you could go to Mc Gann's in Doolin, County Clare, Ireland,
They "Jam" there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week :-)

60.4 | I'd love it | ESPN::HENDRICKS | Holly Hendricks | Thu Sep 04 1986 14:58 | 7 |
| I play penny whistle and fiddle for fun, and am thinking about
acquiring a hammered dulcimer. I'd love to play as long as the
other players were there for fun and not total perfection!
What about a round robin type of jam where everyone gets to suggest
a tune, thereby covering all ability levels? Some could come to
listen, others to play, others to sing.

60.5 | Hey I'm interested! | LISZT::LIU | | Thu Nov 06 1986 10:43 | 5 |
| Let me know if you ever get a group together. I play guitar
and hammered dulcimer. But I have no experience playing Celtic
music. But I've done a lot of listening.
