I THOUGHT there was a separate note for concert announcements, but I couldn't
find it. Maybe there's just the one for concert reviews.

Anyway, my favourite folksinger in the whole world is coming to Cambridge on
Tuesday, 20 May 1986 at 8pm or so. Yep, that's at Passim, of course, in
Harvard Square. Triona ni Domnaill (pronounced: Trina nee Donal') will
be appearing with Gray Larson (can't remember who he is).

Touchstone broke up shortly after the second album, and Bothy Band broke up
years ago. Triona was the driving force behind both bands, and is in my
opinion the most progressive folk artist in the whole world. I haven't
been able to find her solo album or the album she did with the Cunninghams
(of Silly Wizard fame) since the Coop deleted their international/folk section
a few months back. I imagine that whatever she does will be well worth going
to see, though, for anyone into folk/celtic/international/traditional/jazz.

Even people into Heavy Metal might enjoy her. Heavy Metal is deeply rooted
in Irish Traditional music, after all.
