27.0. "Help in Galway?" by BRAHMS::DARCY (George Darcy) Fri Apr 04 1986 11:55

Hi!

I'm trying to locate a branch of relatives (last name Buckley)
who live in or very near to Galway. I don't remember offhand the man
of the household's name, but if I saw it I would remember.

Would someone in Galway be kind enough to either send me a
Galway phone book or xerox the Buckley pages from it? I really would
appreciate it as I'm coming over in June and would like to write
to them beforehand.

My office mail address is LTN 1-2 / B17

   Go raibh maith agat!
      George Darcy

    leaprechauns eat telephone books.

George, it will be me pleasure to assist you with the chore.

However there are only two telephone directories for the whole
nation. Part 1 refers to the Dublin city area and part 2 refers
to the rest of the country. On a quick check I found nine Buckley's
(a cork/kerry name) resident in the (091) area, i.e. Galway city
    and district.
Cyril Buckley, D.J. Buckley, Eamonn Buckley
Mavis Buckley, Michael Buckley, Michael Buckley
Patrick Buckley, Richard Buckley, Thomas Buckley.

Sin e (shin eyhhhh) THat's it.

More than 15 miles from Galway city could mean a different area
    code.

Snake says that 15 irish miles is a loooooooong way away.

Snake, you hit it right on the shron. Cyril Buckley is the man
whose address I'm looking for. I knew it was an uncommon first name.
His wife Vicki is my second cousin. They moved from Blackrock in Cork
up to Galway about 4 years ago.

I'm surprised that all of Ireland can fit on two phone books nowadays.
Many people in Ireland seem to have phones now.

    Thanks for the lookup!
    George
