Dear Mac's


Are you a descendant of the McNulty's from Foxford, County Mayo?

I have recently returned from a trip to Ireland.  While I was there 
I spent quite a bit of time researching the McNulty's from Foxford, 
County Mayo.  My mother, Mary Cecelia (R.I.P) was a McNulty.  She came 
to America as a teenager in 1929 and lived with an Uncle.  Since she was 
the only one in her immediate family to come over, I was able to gather
a lot of information on her parents, grand-parents, great-grandparents.

Most of this information came from my mother's youngest sister, Linda 
(actually christened 'Bridget Agnes'), and the records at the Parish Church.
Both of us became very interested in what happened to her father's brothers
and sisters and their family.  Everyone except for Michael (my grandfather
and my Aunt Linda's father) emigrated to the United States in the late 
nineteenth century.  

Michael had seven brothers and sisters named Patrick (but called Fred by 
some), Bridget (but called Belinda (married a Maher), Mary (married a 
Dromgoole), Martin, George, James and Thomas.  They were all born between 
the years 1869 and 1883. Their parents were Thomas and Mary (Durcan) McNulty. 

I have dates of birth from the parish church in Killasser and names
of their spouses, and sometimes their children (from the memory of 
my Aunt Linda). She also mentions Dorchester, Revere, and West Roxbury
as places she heard about where relations once lived.  I have too much
information to go into detail in this letter unless I know there is
an interest.

If you believe you are a descendant of one of these McNulty's or
any Mac from the Foxford area (the village of Cullen) and are
interested in exchanging information on the family tree, I would 
love to hear from you.

    I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE LAST YEAR. MY MOTHER WAS BORN IN FOXFORD
    AROUND 1908 AND CAME TO AMERICA AROUND 1925. HER NAME WAS ANNE CONNOR.
    I VISITED HER SISTER WHO STILL LIVES THERE LAST YEAR, IT WAS A
    WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE BUT I UNDERSTAND WHY SHE LEFT. REGARDS

    Hi!
    I am from Foxford and came to work and in Clonmel 10 years ago.
    Any of you who were in Foxford may remember O'Hara's shop on the
    Corner. I remember McNulty's from Killasser who usd to shop with
    us and hopefully still do.
     I can pass on any information you may require about the
    town or sorrounding area if you are interested. A booklet on foxford
    was published in 85-86 and I will be glad to pass on some copies
    if you send me your name and address. 
    On a sad not, the world fmaous Provicendce Mills (Foxford Blankets)
    closed down recently after nearly a 100 years. Those of you that
    know Foxford will appreciate how devasting that has been for the
    town.
