My name is George Hewitt, compliments of DEC, Ballybrit, Galway.
My mother (R.I.P.) came from Clare. It was in the same county that my
father discovered her. She lived on the East "coast".
The only thing that I don't like about Clare is that the Banners
(a brand of spuds) don't grow as well as in former times.
The thing that puts me off Ballyvaughan is that it is the stronghold
of the political wife of a certain DEC employee who doesn't share
my political views.
As regards Doolin, it has of late become famed in song. This
song laments the passing (seems like most Clare people are dead ones)
of the father of a traditional Irish folk group called the Fureys.
"The Furey man from us has gone,
Piper play for me the road to Doolin ..."
If the notes system had graphics, perhaps I could supply the
music too (or should I say the notes) !!!

re: 6.1
Me thinks that Mr. Hewitt does not like Bannermen !! :-)
re. "The spuds" ... the last time I was in Ireland, all of the
"spuds" were from Ceylon .....
re. political wifes ... (from Ballyvaughan)
"Mrs. Q" would be sad to read your note.. :-(
re. "seems like most Clare people are dead ones"
Not True ... Miko Russell is alive and well, and living
in Fisher Street .. :-)
