688.0. "Security on User-defined menus?" by 45862::BOND () Mon Feb 17 1997 15:36

TeMIP framework security guide shows how you can customise access to
menu items and launched applications on the IconicMap's Operations and
Applications menus. Can this be extended to a user-defined menu eg:
if I have the following security line:-

disallow only start application on mcc 0 iconicmap_pm
    launch_application secret

    and my mcc_appl_secret.def file contains:

    MENU: Specials
     BUTTON: Secret
       SHELL: /usr/users/temip/secret.csh
    ENDMENU

    and my mcc_appl_not-secret.def contained:

    MENU: Specials
     BUTTON: Not-secret
       SHELL: /usr/users/temip/not-secret.csh
    ENDMENU

then would my user see the 'Specials' menu with just the Not-Secret
    button?

    regards,

Chris,

You are right, you will see only one entry in you menu.
the one that has not been disallowed by the security.

Nathalie.
