680.0. "Problems with TNS" by KNEIPE::CSCHMIDT () Thu Jan 30 1997 15:48

Hello,

I installed TeMIP V3.1 on two systems - one as full server, the other
one as client only.

I did a temip_setup on both systems. I did a tns_server_configure on the
system that plays the role as tns server, the other one is tns clerk
only.

When I run mcc_iconic_map as root on the clien machine, I get always the
following error message:

Director dtserv_ns:.temip.dtserv_director not authorized from
director dtserv_ns:.temip.dtsys1_director.

In my case the dtserv is the tns server and TeMIP full server,
dtsys1 is TeMKIP client only and tns clerk only.

This erroe message happens f.e. if I open a map that was created on from
the server director. But anyway the map is opened.

My question is:

what access rights do I need in tns to be able to run the TeMIP PM with
all rights? I added dtsys1.root to the group temip_users which has
r,w,t,d,c, rights to the directories and all objects (I think so)

Any ideas?

Thank you for reply
Christiane

680.1Director X not authorized from director YTAEC::HOUALFri Jan 31 1997 10:5912
Hello,

Could you check that "MCC Y remote director X" has been created
and "MCC X remote director Y" too ?

In fact, perform the FCL command on each one of your 2 machines:

SHOW MCC 0 REMOTE DIRECTOR *

Best regards,
Beatrice.

Hello,

thank you: I created the remote director in each system and now it works
fine.

Thank you again
