3816.0. "Celebris GL 6200 i2 battery failure" by ochota.rpw.dec.com::Parlinski (Jaroslaw Parlinski @ RPW) Tue May 20 1997 18:13

Hi,

The customer has several new Celebris GL 6200 i2
- FR-B96WW-EG. (Bios GL 6200 DP 1.01)
Even after several weeks of work all dispLay CMOS error
after power up - the battery doesn't work. Save setup option
works until next power off.
In all four PC there is the same error - is it known problem ?
I want to order new batteries but there are no this type
of Celebris GL on QRL.
Could somebody provide me a correct part number for the battery ?

Thanks,

Jarek Parlinski, MCS, Warsaw

We've seen some problems with the battery. Clean both the battery and
the contacts and see if that fixes the problem. If you need a new
battery, use the same one that's in the Venturis FX.

This could also be a revision problem.

Just watch at the left side of the battery if the diode D43 is
installed. If so the battery problem can occur during power off/on.

Correction: Replace Diode D43 by an zero ohm jumper.

    Hope this solve your problem.

Please let me know what the fix is for your problem.

    Regards,

Did the cleaning battery help with your problem? This probably has
some thing to do with system CMOS setup or BIOS, if you log a call
with support,we will have someone look into this problem.

    regards,
