Hi, I installed VISIO 4.0 technical on our Testalpha. For a project I have to digitize a part of Viennas town map. A little comparison: - My PC is a Pentium 90 MHz (Venturis XL) with S3 (2MB) Win95. - Alpha is a Alphastation 600 5/333 with ZlXp-E2-Graphic, 128 MB Memory. Win NT4.00 + FX!32 1.1 - No more GPF's when working with images. Also speed is incredibly fast with images (for VISIO). Speed is increasing approximatly 10 times! - A general problem are all the "Network Shapes". Redraw speed increases only approximatly 2 times. The redraws are also "killing" on such an Alphastation! VISIO seems to have a general problem with drawing vectors? - File saving is slower!? - Until yet, no problems encountered on that Alpha-Platform. Q: What is VISIO doing to increase redraw-speed?? 24.9 | What stencils? | HYDRA::TABOR | Tue Apr 08 1997 15:22 | 5 | |
What network shapes are you finding to be very slow? What is the name of the stencil there shapes are on? and what is the file date of the stencil? I hope you are not using any of the old stencils which we produced. |
