| I'm looking for info about fierce fighting toward the end of the
Battle of the Somme (Oct 1916) for a piece of land called
"Butte do Warlincourt".
This was an important piece of land as it was a hill or mound in the
centre of very flat landscape.
I have recently discovered that my Great Uncle (British Soldier)
was Killed in Action during this fighting and is buried nearby in
Warlencourt British cemetery.
I intend visiting the area sometime and would like to know more
about the battle.
Has anyone got a book on the Battle of the Somme or WWI that discusses
the fighting for Butte de Warlincourt in 1916. If so can you post
some info of drop me a mail.
Thanks
Royston
