If you want to post an anonymous entry, write up your note
introducing yourself, being sure to indicate things like your
gender, your approximate age range, something about what you
are interested in, and what sorts of people you want to meet.
Then MAIL the introductory note to Rich STARCH::WHALEN, who
administers the STARCH::SINGLES account. Rich will post your
topic in the conference (from STARCH::SINGLES), and set up the
mail forwarding database to associate your home node with the
topic. (The mail forwarding database is separate from the
conference, and is not accessible to the world at large.)
Your introductory topic will typically be entered into the
conference within a week to ten days. When you see your topic
in the conference, you might want to reply to it yourself just
to make sure the mail forwarding is working. See the next
note for information on doing this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to reply to an "anonymous" introduction note, use the
SEND/AUTHOR Notes command while you are reading the note. Include
the topic number in the subject line for which Notes prompts you.
For example, to reply to the person whose anonymous introduction
is in topic 666 (which does not yet exist), first you would read
topic 666.
Notes> READ 666
At the next Notes prompt, enter SEND/AUTHOR:
Notes> SEND/AUTHOR ! you enter the command
Notes will prompt for the Subject of your message. Include the
topic number (in this case, 666):
Subject: Topic 666 in SINGLES ! example of subject line
Then, just type in your own reply. See the Notes documentation or
use the HELP facility in Notes to learn more about how to send
MAIL from within Notes.
You can also send a reply from outside Notes. Send the reply to
STARCH::SINGLES, and be sure to include the topic number in the
subject line of your reply. For example,
MAIL> send
To: STARCH::SINGLES
Subj: Topic 666 in SINGLES
and then just enter your message as you normally do.
