337.0. "RSVD_LP, V2.3 RAID$DPDRIVER+1430C" by CSC32::B_GRAHAM (Some days are better than others) Tue May 27 1997 18:24
Guenther,
Can you shed any light on this RSVD_LP bugcheck with 2.3? This is
some of the output from the CLUE, if you need more, let me know and
I'll get the dumpfile sent to me.
Thanks as always,
Bret

337.2 | Need dump to give some hints | COOKIE::FROEHLIN | VMS...riding into the setting sun! | Wed May 28 1997 10:48 | 30 |
| From the driver sources:
selectone .cpb [RC_CPB$_FUNCTION] of
set
[RC_CPB$_FC_COPY]:
begin
...
end;
[RC_CPB$_FC_CLEAR]:
begin
...
end;
[RC_CPB$_FC_COMPARE]:

[otherwise]:
RC_BUGCHECK;
cpb points to a DPDRIVER data structure for a copy buffer. The copy
buffer header contains a function field which can only have certain
values. DPDRIVER checks that the contents of this field is within the
expected limits or else...kaboom!
I've never heard about such a bugcheck before. Without the crash dump I
have to speculate that some other system code "walked" over the cpb
structure. I need to see how the cpb looks like in the crash dump.
But most likely it's is not a fault in RAID code.

337.3 | I'll get the dumpfile | CSC32::B_GRAHAM | Some days are better than others | Wed May 28 1997 11:32 | 5 |
| I'll have the dumpfile sent here and will send you a pointer when it's
here, assuming you're interested in pursuing this?
Thanks Guenther,
