Well, I tried to upgrade my HSZ40 from v2.7 to v3.0 and managed to
screw up the firmware card to the point where the HSZ won't boot. I
followed all the instructions in the User guide and the kermit file
xfer went without a hitch.
Adds new meaning to the old adage, "don't try this at home kids" :}
So, what are my options at this point? I see three:
o Stick the card into a PC with software that knows how to write
PCMCIA cards. This would also mean getting a valid v3.0 image,
which is (I think) the problem I'm having above.
o Is there some kind of "dual-redundant" controller copy I can invoke?
o Procure a new PCMCIA card with the correct firmware on it.
So as for option three, can someone point me at the right part # or the
contact for software maintenance upgrades?
For option two, is there a "run command" that will let me copy from one
conroller to another?
And finally for option two, is there a good site to grab firmware images from
and does anyone here have experience with writing this image to the PCMCIA
card?
Thanks a bunch!

According to our logistics, part# BG-R22T0-0A (or the V3.1 version) is no more
orderable through logistics. We were told to order them from SSB.
So we signed an internal MDDS contract to have one handy in case of a failure...

| Ahhhhh
Well, as of yesterday it was set up per .2 for the US.... and supposedly
for the world!
Its nice that the GSO organization ...isn't GLOBAL in how it manages
parts/policy. You may wish to escalate this up through Europe logistics
back to Andover, and see if the parties can smooth this out for the next
lad who attempts to order it!.
