Hello,

if your customer has an MDDS contract for the HSx firmware, he will get it
automatically.

If not:

Together with the controller came a registration card, that has to be filled
out and sent back. If you do not have these card, send mail to PCMCIA @NQO via
ALLIN1, or [email protected]. They will send you a registration form.

The software (PCMCIA cards) is for free the first year after order, and has then
to be covered with an MDDS contract to get it.

875.2Can I upgrade the existing PCMCIA ?HGOV08::SIUKEUNGLEETue May 13 1997 11:146
Do you means that we need to order a new PCMCIA with Ver 3.1 instead
of upgrading the existing once ? My existing version is 3.0Z-2.

    Thank!

    David Lee.

If the customer is within his SOFTWARE warranty, he should be getting the
updated version (properly registered, etc). If the customer has purchased
MDDS upgrade service, then he is entitled and should be automatically be
receiving the updated PCMCIA card.

If the customer is under hardware service contract / warranty (but outside the
SW warranty terms), he is NOT entitled to the new version unless he PAYS
for it!.

If the software is for internal DIGITAL machines, then you have to use
appropriate paths.

If for outside Digital customer, consult the Product Service Plans for
the product (both HW PSP and for HSOF Software PSP). These plans are
available via MCS's PSIA web site
