I am not really that familiar with SCSIclusters and I've sort of inherited this customer very recently. So bear with me... OpenVMS mixed arch cluster containing "OpenVMS Alpha based SCSIsubcluster". I.e. 2100/KZPSA --- HSZ40-HSZ40 --- KZPSA/2100 OpenVMS is at V6.2-1H3 on Alphas. We see occasionally hangs to devices behind HSZ40. Seems that all disks just go offline (from VMS point of view). The HSOF version V2.7Z. Alphas firmware version is at the very latest from V3.9 firmware CD, most notably the KZPSA is at A10. Should this config have DWZZAs? Any other suggestions? _veli

NO you don't need dwzaa - insure that the proper termination is set at both ends of the scsi bus. Look at error logs to determine if you are seeing scsi bus resets or other scsi errors. insure that you have the latest pksdriver and dkdriver, the latest have a link date of april 97. When you say devices go away, are you seeing mount verify? | |||||

Yes, mount verify with devices being offline. Well, now I have been involved in another SCSI cluster case (8200-4100, dual HSZ40 plus dual HSZ50) and there seems to be also requirements about KZPSA revision. I'll try to check the termination issues, revisions etc. |
