I upgraded an HSZ40 (RA410) to an HSZ50 (RA450) and discovered that one of the disks in a Raidset is a SEAGATE ST15150N. This equipment is not maintained bt Digital and this drive was recently replaced by MAINTECH. The drive code version is listed as 0019, is this device supported on the HSZ50 and at what revision level? Thanks, Joe Averbach

No Seagate drives are supported on an Digital controllers. I would have who ever MAINTECH is start replacing bad RZ's with good RZ or the customer might get a little miffed when things don't work.

Don't know what you tell you about this, only rz or swx devices are supposed to be supported, There was a blitz put out on 5/31/96 TD #2067, it describes the universal part number strategy. you might want to contact that author, to see if there are now vendor part numbers that are supported. but as far as I know only the rz and swx numbers are supported.

See the SPD to determine which drives and rev levels are supported. All others are NOT guaranteed to work since we have not tested them. |
