We have 3 pairs of HSZ40 (V2.7-2) in same limbo state, ie: No response on serial line (baud is OK, CTRL^Q does not help) With hszterm (V1.1A on UNIX V3.2D-1) we see the following: eplz12> hszterm -v -f/dev/rrze35c -o hsz.log.1 Starting HSZterm Version V1.1-1 Copyright Digital Equipment Corporation 1994. For the rest these HSZ40 are still doing their job, but the question is how are we going to recover from this limbo (cannot do SET THIS PREFER.....RESTART OTHER, since both in same state). This is in a HIGH AVAILABILTY environment (ASE V1.3) !!! Regards, Johan.

Hi You might trying going at it via bus target lun, where you pick an idle lun...There are notes in the hszterm about doing this on active luns may give you problems. I have seen it not work even on an idle lun, expecially with a busy controller...it is a bug to me but I don't know the solution. The direct command is in the HSZ docs, it just shows what modules are installed in software... sys_check goes at it via bus target lun, and 99% of the time it works except in the case I describe above. |
