we have a configuration , 2 alpha 2100 servers with hsz40 using digital unix
3.2C with DEC ase. hsz firmware version 25Z ..
in hsz40 we hv disks rz28-va and rz28M with firmware version 442d , 466 and
above respectively
the disks are in mirrorset.

1] my problem is whenever we have a DECase service switchover one of the
switched 
disk member is failed and thrown out of mirrorset.. and when we add the member
back to
mirrorset it is fine.. 

2] when we shutdown the hsz40 for maintenance. say for 1 or 2 hrs when we
power
on we get battery low problem. so we change cache policy to B from A..
but it was observed that battery was not charged even after 2 days.. one time
it showed battery self test failed.. but when we power reset the hsz40 
the battery was again showing "GOOD".. 
The batteries were replaced 3 months back.. 

so normally there is no prob. but when we shutdown the systems and hsz40 or 
ASE switchover we get these problems..

i would be very happy to get the response for these problems..

    Suggest that you install hsof version 3.0-3z. The battery
    test for version 2.5 had many problems.Sometimes the battery
    would indicate failed, even though the battery may not have been
    bad.
    
    As far as the device getting put into the failed set when you
    switch ase servers, you need to look at the error log entires and
    also if you have  terminal connected to the hsz that has that unit
    online, enable fmu event logging and record the output from that hsz
    to deterine why the device is getting put intothe failed set.
