809.1 | HSZ50 battery cache cable problem 17-04321-02 | TIMAST::HUGHES | | Tue Mar 18 1997 15:41 | 11 |
| I have also seen this problem and had to physically modify the cable to
get it to attach properly to both the HSZ cache module and the battery.
Also, manufacturing accidently shipped 3 of these cables with my HSZ
pair. So I have an unmodified defective cable for whomever to disect.
I have attempted an IPMT case but Colorado can't see the call that was
logged. I will be issueing a IPMT case on this problem as soon as I get
the opportunity to do it all over again.

809.2 | HSZ 50 Battery Cables | AUSSIE::BEVERIDGE | | Tue Mar 18 1997 22:03 | 11 |
| I have also started an IPMT action via MCS here in Sydney.
I presume that the deathly silence on this issue means
that it has yet to be addressed.
Is somebody looking into this?

| Is this a fairly new system? When did you recieve the hardware?

809.4 | Shipped in December 96 | TIMAST::HUGHES | | Wed Mar 19 1997 13:03 | 7 |
| I received my hardware in December. The customer was slow in upgrading
the HSZ40's to 50's due to unavailable downtime. I suspect it is a very
small number of cables that were shipped have this problem. I have
installed about 12 HSJ50's (which use the exact same cable) and have not
seen the problem on any of them.

809.5 | Bad connectors on some (all?) ECB cables with date code of 50/96 | SSDEVO::THOMPSON | Paul Thompson, Colorado Springs | Mon Mar 24 1997 10:27 | 6 |
| Some bad connectors made it to some (all?) cables made with a date code of
50/96 on the cable. Most of these were caught in manufacturing, but
obviuosly some made it to the field.
Replacement cables should be fine. The bad connectors can be identified by a
slot on the sides of the sleeves over the screws.
