Hi Guys, Following the c_swap procedure written on servicing your Storagework subsystem pag.77,we discover a bug during the set this preferred_id on the good controller, the command respond : oparation not available at this time, and the prefer doesn't take effect. The big problem is that if you proceed with operation the next step is to restart other controller and after the command the faulty controller restart and set unavailable the units!!!!! Controller hsz40-c hsof v3.0-2. Could sameone tell me if there is a bug into the procedure or how i can force the preffered on the good controller before the faulty restart ? Any comment and suggestion will be very appreciated Best regards /Walter

You are correct, if a controller is in dual configuration and the other controller is not running, you can't set preferred ids. If the controller that is going to be replaced is not running, then The work around is to set nofailover on the running controller, then you can set preferred id's on the running controller; then you restart the other controller and get the error information. once you get the error information, shutdown the controller that is going to be replaced then enter the c_swap procedures as listed in the service guides, I am going to try to get a blitz out that will list the changes. |
