A customer has a dual-redundant HSZ40 (B) configuration under Digital UNIX V3.2C or V3.2D-1. The HSZ40 currently has several RAID1, RAID5 and JBOD disks. Due to a change in his requirements, the disks have to be completely reconfigured. In order to establish new RAID1, RAID5, etc. disk sets, is it necessary to explicitly delete the original disks, raid/mirror sets, and units (with the CLI delete command); or, will using the "set" CLI command(s), followed by a restart, automatically do this for me. I assume that you are going to be changing the configurations of the raid sets, adding new device, etc. In order to use any devices that are part of any existing raid array, you must delete the raid array in order to free those devices to be used in a different configuration. If that array is a unit, you must delete the unit first. |
