I noticed in the Release Notes for HSOF V3.1 & V5.1 in the section on "Ability to install New Microcode" that only four EZ devices are listed. We currently are running with EZ58s and this device is not one of the four listed (EZ51, EZ54, EZ64 and EZ69). Is the lack of "HSUTIL" support for the EZ58 just an ommission in the Release Notes or is there something "special" about this model that prevents a Microcode upgrade. Thanks, Dennis P.S. Would someone please respond to "1234".

Well from the device side,,, EZ51R, EZ54R and EZ58R all use the exact same .FUP file and all load the EXACT same way. It's is nice to see they added SSD support, HSOF 2.7 and 3.0 did NOT support SSD. Also beware do NOT upgrade EZ58R drives from 089 or 098 up to 109! V109 was just half of the problem with EZ58R's running older versions. The other half of the problem was the RZ26L retention device use in the EZ58R. An up to revision EZ58R needs both V109 AND a NEW retention device (was an FCO over a year ago). roger |
