We have a dual redundant HSJ40 port 0 connected to two TSZ07s and port
1 directly connected to a single TSZ07 - no BAXXX or DWZZA. These
HSJs report "bad fan or power supply" on shelves 1 and 2. Of course we
don't have a shelf 1 or 2 since the TSZs are directly connected.
Is there a fix for this or is this supposed to be taken care of by the
SCSI cable - i.e. is a 17-03831-01 absolutely needed?
Second question, do the TSZ07s need to be set up in 2s compliment mode
to work properly with an HSJ40?

Yup; you have connected a device with regular SCSI pinouts to a
StorageWorks SCSI Interface and have grounded the SHELF OK and SWAP
L signals; use the little cable and a BN21H
