296.0. "PCMCIA card part number change???" by BRUNEL::KIRBY () Thu Apr 10 1997 06:47

Hi,
	Can anyone tell me if the part number of the PCMCIA card with
V2.7 for the HSD30 has been changed, or what this extra card is?

	My Customer has just received his update kit (to go from V2.5 to V2.7)
and it contains two cards:-

1)	BG-Q6HL0-2A.A01 This is the V2.7 card I would expect.
2)	BG-R1UM0-0A.A01     Also labeled V2.7 .... but I can't track the number
                            so I don't know what it is!

		Thanks,

				Steve.

1)	BG-Q6HL0-2A.A01 This is the V2.7 card I would expect.

>>this number is a new card - the "saleable" part number

2)	BG-R1UM0-0A.A01     Also labeled V2.7 .... but I can't track the number
                            so I don't know what it is!

>>this number is the number MCS should use to "replace" an existing but
>>	"failed" v2.7 card with. Same card, different number!
>> It is called the "service part number re-programmed!".

>>now I don't understand why you guys/gals can't keep this straight!!  ;-)

296.2??GEM::SHERGOLDWe are 100% sure; well almost!!Fri Apr 18 1997 13:195
    Funny in our spares database the MCS part number is BR-2YHAB-QS. A
    search on the net reveals the BG-R1UM0-0A.A01 part number is only
    mentioned in this note!!!! :-)
