Hi,I have a customer whose hardware configuration is dual Alpha 8200
connecting with four HSD30 with four DSSI buses.
The consoles of both hosts imtermitternly display "visual circuit time
out" and the error count of pnb, pnc, pnd is increasing. This is
especially true when the amount of I/O is increasing.
We had checked the connection and cable. It has no probelm.
Is this a bug of V2.7 of HSD30 firmware?
If so,How to solve it?
Regards!

Hi,
To help us out you should provide an errorlog and let us know how long
the dssi cables are. When you run VTDPY from the controller(s) you should
see 0 NAKS and enough NORS to be polling for DSSI ID's that dont exist.
so:
1) get us an errorlog. They will tell us who's timing out to who or
if there is another hardware problem.
2) find out how long the DSSI cables are, better yet, provide a map of
the bus(es).
3) make sure we have proper termination at both ends of the DSSI
4) run VTDPY during a period of activity and record the NAKS and NORS
per second.
Regards,
Kurt
