287.0. "Auto Analysis and setting changes" by OLD1S::SYSTEM (PM&D PSE Tools Support) Thu Apr 10 1997 16:27
We've come across a issue that needs to be add to the documentation
as general information.
When the Automatic analysis routine is running. You cannot perform
a change in the setting ie; SET SICL ON, set debug.
The AUtomatic analysis process has the knl files opened. When you run
the interactive process to do a setting change it also open the knl;s. This is a
bad situation as we do not have knl locking code at this time. When the
interactive process is finished. It closes the knl's. The next time the
automatic analysis process gets stopped and restarted it crashes because the knl
is corrupt. It is corrupt because the interactive process modifiied the knl and
moved the end of file pointer to a new location.
If this occurs. The prm state db must be rebuilt. To do this you must
copy the factory state db to the prm state db and re add the system information
and set sicl on if needed. Once this process is complete, you can restart the
automatic process.
