Hi Bat,
Quick question, If a user exports /usr/spool/mail from a v2.1 system
to a alpha, cd into the mount point and does a ls they see all the user
names in /usr/spool/mail. If they do a ls -lag the get usernames file not
found errors. If they copy a Unclassified file into /usr/spool/mail they
can see it.
I've tried setting this up locally, which keeps choking w/
Bad MNT RPC: taz: RPC: Timed out
Bad MNT RPC: taz: RPC: Unable to send; errno = Bad file number
I can ping and telnet both ways. showmount -e shows the file being
exported, also rpcinfo -p server looks good. Can you give a call please.
thanks

775.2 | better to export V3->V2 | SMURF::BAT | Segui la tua beatitudine | Thu Jan 30 1997 20:24 | 5 |
| I spoke to Tammy -- the V3.1A release notes say that ACLs are not
compatible between V2 and V3. She convinced them that what they really
wanted to do was use the Alpha box as the file server, and put mail on
it and export those directories to the MIPS workstations. They seem to
be working now.
