I assume the customer is running Dunix.  If they are running Ultrix or
UCX, the following doen't apply.  (Uh, how many times have you asked
a customer what software and what revision they're using?)

I'd recommend sending them a test rpc.lockd.  A patch isn't available
yet, but I have uuencoded files, one for V4.0 and one for V3.anything.
I don't know when the patch will be available.

The new bits fix many, mnay problems with lost messages that lead to
many symptoms, including the one you describe.
