One of MLS+ customers wished to repartition a 2G disk and he ran into problem:
>Regarding the 2G disk problem:
>> the disk is rz28-va
>> the disk is on a EISA bus in a 2100 alpha server
>> the OS is DEC MLS+ 3.1A with patch level 10
>>
># disklabel -rw /dev/rre0a rz28
>partition c extends past end of disk by 144 sectors, truncate? [n]:
>disklabel: /mdec/reboot: No such file or directory
>
>What I usually used is /dev/rrz?? too. I believe rz?? is for SCSI device.
>As I mentioned, /dev/rre?? is from EISA bus connection. Can you confirm that
>device on EISA bus (in 2100 alpha server) is supported by MLS+ 3.1a? or not?
We found out that on V3.1a there is no /mdec/reboot executable and Lee's
guess is that MLS+ V3.1a does not support the device on EISA bus (in 2100
alpha server). Can anyone confirm it ? Thanks,
Ed
