- Strong C programming and debugging skills.
- Design and develop components of complex software systems (e.g.
relational RDBMS).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a member of a new development team that is going to design and implement
version 8 of Trusted Oracle, a multilevel extension of the Oracle server.
This is a unique opportunity to design and develop a product that will benefit
both the commercial (such as financial institutions) and Government (such as
DoD, Public Sector - local Gov't, Higher Education) market. A multilevel
secure RDBMS is the cornerstone of information security on the Internet.
Members of the team will enhance Oracle 8.0 to a B1 level of security,
maintaining full integrity of Oracle 8.0 functionality. Developers will be
working in almost all layers of the kernel. Some of the tasks include:
- - design and implement B1 (multilevel) extension of row-level security across
the database.
- - ensure performance equal to that of Oracle 8.0 with row-label overhead.
- - enhance kernel functions to be label-aware, implementing mandatory access
control where appropriate.
- - provide method of migration from version 7 to 8 of Trusted Oracle.
- - research and propose potential designs of a labeled ADT.
