Subj: DEC MLS+ crashes while being an NFS server
Barbara,
Our machine croaked, and upon checking the crash dump, it looks like there
might be a problem when the MLS+ is perfoming NFS services. Since we need
to use NFS, and our (your) customers may also need to use NFS, can we get
someone over there to look in this?
Thanks,
-Chris

Barbara,
I found out some more information which may help you to reproduce the
problem. The machine which crashed and was acting as the NFS server,
had the latest patches installed (pl9, plus your tnsmm_socket.o). The
machine acting as the client is a "MLS+ T4.0-1 (Rev. 26MLS)"
machine.
Apparently someone unmounted the underlying disk of the exported filesystem
then remouted it while the client was trying to access those files.
Since NFS is a stateless protocol, this should have only caused a
momentary loss of service to the client.
Just a reminder, it was the server, the 3.1A machine which crashed.
Thanks,
-Chris
