441.0. "Mls+ V4 support on which Alpha's Please" by CHEFS::HOWLETT_T (Avoiding the cracks in the pavement) Thu Jan 30 1997 09:35

    Hi

When will a supported hardware list for V4
    	be available?
Is there any chance it will be the same
    	as for Digital Unix V4.0A?
My Customer would like to be confident
that MLS+ V4 will run and be supported
on the Dec 3000-700's that they already
have, as well as on the
    	newer Pci boxes

    	Regards
    	  Terri

As far as I know, "they" are lifting the DIGITAL UNIX V4.0A SPD
supported hardware list to put into the DIGITAL MLS+ V4.0A SPD...
since that's the code base that was "MLS'd".

I'll check with Lee and Mike, though, to make sure.

1 - As far as I know, the "supported hardware list"
is the SPD which will not be officially published until
    MLS+ V4.0A ships.

2 - The MLS+ V4.0A SPD has NOT YET yet been finalized/approved.
But at this time, I do not expect there to be
any differences from DU V4.0A in the hardware section
    with the EXCEPTION of Printers.

What I'd say is:

We are supporting all processors/systems specified
in the Base 4.0a SPD. There are some exceptions in
the peripheral device area (ascii printers come to
	mind).

Check with Mike, as he is in charge of the SPD, and should
have the "company line" on this.
