| Stefan Vladar records an enjoyable set of piano concertos with the
Capella Istropolitana, Barry Wordsworth conductor, Naxos label.
Impressive technique & lively interpretation combine with good recording
balance to make these CD's a very fine addition to your collection.

177.31 | Bishop-Kovacevich is back. | SMURF::BINDER | Errabit quicquid errare potest. | Thu Apr 10 1997 12:59 | 8 |
| Stephen Bishop-Kovacevich has recorded (or may still be in the process
of recording) the whole Beethoven cycle again for EMI. I have his 5th,
and by any measure I can apply it is so far above every other version
I've ever heard - including his earlier Philips version - as to defy
meaningful comparison. The first time I listened to it, I felt like
the guy in front of the speaker in the Maxell tape ads - completely
blown away. Astonishing technique, brilliant and thoughtful and truly
satisfying musicianship and interpretation. Altogether a magical disc.
