2032.0. "How to write script to Manage DECserver ?" by HGOVC::SOCHUNWAH () Tue Apr 29 1997 22:45
Original Problem was : Some DECserver 900TM port hang after ASE failover
Those DECserver ports were configured with dedicated LAT service. When
Oracle disk service service failover, some of the ports found hung. And
We can logout the "hung" ports to reset the ports. However, as the
oracle disk service had failovered to another system, we are in fact
do not need to keep the connection to the original disk service owner
system (because the LAT service will be re-start from the start script
of the Oracle disk service).
Consider the "restting of all DECserver ports" as a necessary steps when
failover disk services (especially in my case here). I would like to put
the commands in the DECsafe script to handle the 'port reset' task. I had
tried use "ccr" to connect to the DECserver and logout all ports without
any problem. But I have to do it interactively.
My probelm now is : How can I be able to use script commands to perform the
same thing ? I am not familar with UNIX script writing, if I can have some
similar script example, I beleive I can make some modification accordingly
to make it work.
This notes will be cross-posted in "Digital UNIX" as well as "ASE"
Any advise, comment and suggestion are welcome !!!
Thanks in advance
