Hi,
Is it a good idea to implment Oracle Parallel Server on a Data
Warehouse of at 600GB?
I expect more read than write queries. 10 concurrent queries will be
expected.
I believe OPS provides load balance of 10 queries and high
availability. OPS has overhead. Given more read transactions, does OPS
improve performance?
Thanks,
Patrick

I have next to no field experience, but I did help support the use of OPS in a large data warehouse (read-intensive) benchmark, and I do believe Digital did win the business. I guess the question is: why not use OPS for a data warehouse application. You may want to ask in the ORACLE notesfile (BELFAST::ORACLE, last time I looked). They tend to be much better at this kind of question. Dave [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||
