2002.0. "ASE NFS service, file not found" by MSBCS::REED () Tue Apr 15 1997 17:43
Hello,
I have a strange problem, I have a 2 node ASE cluster,
2 4100's. One of the 4100's can NFS serve the 5 NFS
services just fine. The other can not serve all of
them, only 3 to be specific. From ASE's point of view
everything is fine, but when you try to
access the NFS client mount point you get
'file not found'.
Here is the the ASE service exports file of
a service that doesn't work on one of the RAWHIDES
# cat /etc/exports.ase.eng-rawhide
#
# ASE exports file for service eng-rawhide (ONLY EDIT THIS FILE WITH asemgr)
#
#rawhide_dmn#rawhide_fset exports (after this line) - DO NOT DELETE THIS LINE
/usr/projects/rawhide -m=/var/ase/mnt/eng-rawhide/usr/projects/rawhide -root=0
I can access the ADVFS filesystem fine, but even if I try
to mount up /usr/projects/rawhide@eng-rawhide /usr/projdects/rawhide
on the server, with just plain NFS I get the 'file not found' error.
Somehow the internals of ASE appear to not be mapping to the
right NFS client mount point, but I have no idea why.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or
if I'm not clear please let me know, very stumped.
Thanks,
Chris

2002.1 | NFS ? | BACHUS::DEVOS | Manu Devos NSIS Brussels 856-7539 | Wed Apr 16 1997 02:48 | 7 |
| Chris,
I think ASE is not at fault. I would search in the direction of the NFS
daemons. Is the NFS setup well done on the second system ?
Manu.

2002.2 | sys_check html files available for these systems... | WONDER::BENTO | I've got TV but I want T-Rex... | Wed Apr 16 1997 13:38 | 7 |
| I have created thru sys_check a html file that hopefully will be of
use to someone in helping understand this problem we are having.
They are named /system.html and are located at laurel.eng.pko.dec.com
and hardy.eng.pko.dec.com
