1979.0. "SCSI problem" by DAIVC::TEGUH () Wed Apr 02 1997 23:44

    guys,

    thanks in advance for your quick response, I'm really sorry not to
    give you guys the clear configuration picture.But anyway it's
    appreciated.

    here is the real complete picture :

       H879-AA(2)  BN21K-10   H885-AA(2)   BN21K-10   H879-AA (2)
       BN21W-0B ------------ BN21L-0B   ------------ BN21W-0B
       KZPSA(2) ------------  HSZ40(2)  ------------  KZPSA (2)
     ---------               ----------              --------
    | AS2100  |             |  SW800   |            | AS2100 |
    |         |             |          |            |        |
     ---------               ---------               --------
        |                                                |
    |----------------------------------------------------------------|
                         thin-wire

    internal differential terminators for all kzpsa had been removed and
    replaced with H879-AA.
    The main questions are :
    - I see many single point of failure as specially  on scsi bus ;
      BN21L-0B, BN21K-10, H879-AA etc. If I got that point, so what's
      the use of DECsafe which is supposed to be reliable and higly
      available? Because I was experienced with that kind of problem, found
      failed BN21L-0B for two days due to both machines got panic.
    - I also got confused how come LSM got hung everytime we reboot the
      machine when there was a failed disk on the shared disk. So I need to
      remove the failed disk on shared disk with hsz40 command before I was
      able to startup the machine (strange ?).

    I think that's it and other questions on .0 .

    thanks,
