Hi, A partner asked me the following: he has a customer who is moving from VAX -> Alpha (AlphaServer 4100), from VMS -> UNIX. He wants to know if he can trade-in his exising VAXcluster (or OpenVMS Cluster) licenses against the cost of TruCluster licenses. Has anyone heard of this being done before ? Otherwise, any ideas about whom I might contact to get a YES/NO answer ? Thanks for any help, Sen Nation Technical Support Agent Digital Galway [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Answer will be given by your country Mktg and/or Sales managers based on this specific case (until there's an official trade in campaighn available...and I haven't heard from such plans yet, even the idea is good!) By the way: OpenVMS Cluster Prices just increased, which has caused bad will and delayed some customer investements now, so PLEASE do not implement OpenVMS cluster pricing in TruCluster product family ;-) -jari |
