1926.1 | Token ring is not supported for ASE daemon communication | SMURF::MYRDAL | | Fri Mar 07 1997 11:24 | 6 |
| No token ring is not supported as a member network. You can have
token ring installed on a system which runs ASE and service clients
with it. But it can not be used as a transport for ASE daemon
communication.

1926.2 | A ++ feature ... | BRSDVP::DEVOS | Manu Devos DEC/SI Brussels 856-7539 | Sun Mar 09 1997 12:31 | 13 |
| Greg,
Would it be a development work to support it, or is it only testing and
qualification?
We have a some big BANKS in Belgium and Luxemburg running big IBM
mainframes and token rings. The Alpha 8400 ASE/TRU clusters is a good
system to replace these installations, but WE NEED to use the existing
token ring network.
This would be an add-on value for DEC clusters
Manu.

1926.4 | Another engineer needs to quantify the work | SMURF::MYRDAL | | Mon Mar 10 1997 10:11 | 5 |
| I am not the correct engineer to say how much work this would be
in the HSM to support token ring. Maybe Mitch can comment.
