Hi, My customer had installed ASE 1.3 on AXP2100. I am interested how to setup the oracle V7.2.3 databases so that no idle oracle server is in the cluster. I am trying to setup one database on the first node to fail over to the second node, and a second database on the second node to fail over to the first node so that the two nodes have each active database running and failover each other. If someone knows how to setup oracle database for no idle, pls gives me the instructions! Tks, eric

Hi Eric, If you are using ASE 1.3 (and not Trucluster 1.0 Memory Chnnel software), you can set two services up, one withe the first system as the first favored member, and the other with the second system as the first favored member. BUT, your systems will be running TWO DIFFERENT databases. If you are using OPS with Memory Channel hardware, then you can have the two systems running the SAME database. For the setup, go the OPS documentation of ORACLE, and read the notes about the DRD service. Regards, Manu. |
