One of the features required is a multi-SCSI controller
(dual) access from each host to the shared storage. The
shared storage has to be on dual-redundant RAID
controllers.
As per my knowledge of DECsafe ASE, we dont support this
feature currently.
My question is which competitors (specifically SUN, HP) can
provide this feature and where can I find more information.
I think you are describing what HP calls "dual path access" or
something like that. I don't know who else has it but they
do.

1901.2 | We call it MUNSA ... | VIRGIN::SUTTER | Who are you ??? - I'm BATMAN !!! | Wed Feb 26 1997 13:22 | 9 |
| I think you mean the ability to talk directly to the SCSI Disk from
ALL cluster members (much similar to VMS SCSI Clusters).
We decided to do this via MC only but this may change in the future
(See also note 1661.* in here).

1901.3 | dual-rail SCSI | TROOA::MSCHNEIDER | [email protected] | Wed Feb 26 1997 20:07 | 6 |
| I think what he is asking for is dual-rail SCSI where you would have
redundant HSZxx controllers attached to TWO different SCSI adapters.
UNIX will support this in the Steel release later this year and I would
expect ASE to support this following general UNIX support.
Don't know what the competition can do....
