| Even though AlphaStations are not officially supported for Truecluster,
is there any reason why it wouldn't work. I would like to cluster an
AlphaServer 400 with an AlphaStation 500 for internal use only using
KZPSAs and a BA350.
My only purpose in doing so is to install/configure the software to
understand how it works (It's always nice to do this at least once
before doing it at a customer site).
I gotta believe there is more than one such configuration within
Digital. I just would like to verify it before ordering pieces/parts
from Dial.
Thanks,
-Ron

| Hi
We haven't tried it...your welcome to if you like. Don't call us
if you have problems, we don't plan to fix anything that is not related
to our supported platforms.

We do have one (large) customer who's running TruCluster
Production Server on several pairs of AlphaStation 500s.
The installation went fine and we haven't seen any problems
by now (he knows it's unsupported and is not expecting any
support at all, they're using the MC/PVM APIs to speed up their
software build environment).
Hth,
