I am trying to install LU62 V3.1 on DUX4.0B, on top of PeerServer 1.4 (I copied it from snads.lkg.dec.com). The installation script for LU62 V3.1 checks for OSFBASE40?. DUX4.0B is OSFBASE410. I modified the script to allow installation on 4.0B. How safe is it ? [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

This is will be fixed in the next ECO for lu62. The installation should be fine. From note in IBM_IC_SUPPORT. ============================= ... However, looking at the Programming Support Tools Doc. regarding the creation of Subsets, it states the 3 digit version code "should" be, product major version id, minor version id, upgrade level. So, we obviously thought... 40? would handle all V4.0.x subsets. (at least 10 of them). It appears Digital UNIX is violating this intent and has done so with V3.2 as well. getq.lkg.dec.com> setld -i|grep OSFBASE OSFBASE350 installed Base System (- Required -)....
