7076.0. "Fujitsu/Facom to Digital Unix Connectivity" by OZROCK::PERKINS (Some contractors, their sex-life destroyed and overwhelmed by project pressures, turn to snorting quack.) Wed Apr 23 1997 03:12

I am working on a bid for an integration project involving Fujitsu
to Digital Unix in Australia. I am seeking some assistance with
understanding my alternatives.

The customer has:

	Fujitsu M1900/10
	MSP/EX V10L10
	VTAM-G V30L20
	NCP-G V30L21
	AIM V20L10
	AIM/DC V20L10
	TISP V20L10
	TISP/PRINT	V10L30
	TSS/E V11L20

I need to execute AIM functions from programs running on
Digital Unix.

I was thinking of using HLLAPI on Digital Unix to execute the
functions via the 9526/3270 screens. Some questions:

**Do you still support connection between Fujitsu and
  Digital environments?
**Have you used a Peer Server with the Fujitsu systems? If not,
do you still support SNA Gateways communicating with Fujitsu
  mainframes?
**Have anyone tried HLLAPI on Digital Unix with either Peer Server
or SNA Gateways connecting to Fujitsu?
**Are there any other alternatives you can propose?
**Are there any questions I can ask to assist in determining if
  this is feasible?

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Not that we know of. Digital Japan Engineering had a project in place
to support this(Kangi) but I don't think it is currently supported for
the English language versions of Fijutsu.

No & no, as far as I know.

>**Have anyone tried HLLAPI on Digital Unix with either Peer Server

	Not that I know of.

>**Are there any other alternatives you can propose?

Yes - don't bid the project unless you are willing to support the
	product(s) locally.

>**Are there any questions I can ask to assist in determining if
> this is feasible?

	Nope.
