7062.1 | loads O/S but not config files... | CSCMA::HATCH | | Wed Apr 09 1997 10:33 | 14 |
| Hi Anca
I am working with a customer who has this configuration. We are
having problems with the SNAINI object connection from snagwy::SNA$GO.
Fortunately the customer still has his VAX up and running so we have
some time to work on this! In the meantime, I am looking for a system
to test on so if anyone has a vms v7.1 system that they wouldn't mind
having us play on please let me know.
Thanks

7062.2 | loads O/S but not config files... | PRIVAT::ANCA | | Thu Apr 10 1997 03:35 | 10 |
| Yes Helen ,
it is exactly my problem.
The customer has PSI (Datexp) and I used the same way to his system.
I'll contact him today and I'll mail you on CSCMA::HATCH the
PSI address and user/pass.
Regards,
Anca.

What about showing us some OPCOM message with Audit-messages and DECnet-

| Hi
Copy of the opcom log has been faxed to engineering. Anca, I was
hoping for a system in house. I am not comfortable with this type of
testing on a customer system.

7062.6 | proxy definition was not correct | 18649::HATCH | | Mon Apr 14 1997 15:21 | 22 |
| Hi
The sna$go proxy was not defined in authorize as local:.snagwy.
Once we added the proxy with that as the node name the gateway loaded.
And even though the proxy is displayed with and without the local:.
in front of it, the proxy without the local:. is NOT accessible!
Now the problem is the the event logger is failing with the
following error:
command failed due to: No such object instance.
He is running ST v1.2 eco 08. He does have the net$manage rights
identifier granted to the user from which he is starting this
application.
By the way Bill, I did not have to add a CML user and object.
Thanks.

I assume that this happens during execution of the procedure
SNAGM$EVL_STARTUP and that the above error happens upon trying
to change the session control application (object) with NCL?
This is one of the last commands in the procedure, and happens
after starting the SNAEVL (detached) process. This process de-
clares the object aka creates the session control application 58.
Apparently in your situation, the process and/or object are not there.
Was the SNAEVL-process started and is it still around ? Any infor-
mation in the logfile SYS$MANAGER:SNAEVL.LOG ?

| Hi all
The snaevl process is not up after the msg appears. In the
snaevl.log file the following is written:
SNAEVL starting
system-f-nolognam, no logical name.

| Hi all,
I have installed yesterday on my machine and today on the customers system
and it works without problems.
I don't know if it is supported or not BUT it works.
I have had a lot of problems with DECnet/PLus mop database, but not with
snagwy software.
Thanks a lot for all ,

Anca.

| Hi Anca,
Did the event logger start?
Hi Bill
There are no additional errors in the evl log when running with
set verify. The customer is seeing the error when the startup file
sys$startup:sna$evl_startup.com submits the command run
sys$system:snaevl /detached ...
The error is %system-f-nolognam, no logical name match
Thanks,
.....Helen

| Helen,
I wasn't in yesterday. Patriot's Day and the Marathon! I never
work that day. I love to watch people who can run 26+ miles!
After 3-5 I'm done!
Looking for FAX.

| Helen,
I see the log data.
It appears the SNAEVL starts.
"SNAEVL starting." is written to the logfile from the MAIN routine.
"%SYSTEM-F-NOLOGNAM, no logical name match" must be causing
image exit. I don't know where, why just yet.
Do the following:
1. Close this note and work officially in IBM_IC_SUPPORT.
2. Change SNAGM$EVL_STARTUP.COM by commenting out
two lines and running it. $!DEFINE/USER SYS$OUTPUT NL:
Same for sys$error.
3. $sh log SYS$NODE
I'm not sure what the problem is there. It works here o.k. on
7.1 with DECnet+.
