Hi, anyone having expirience setting up RUMBA V4.1 (I guess it's RUMBA for Digital, Mainframe Edition) with TCP/IP to a Domain Gateway V2.0 ? We don't get it working over TCP/IP, it works perfectly with DECnet. (KEA-Term over TCP/IP on the PC works fine) Are there any special setups on the PC ? Any suggestion ? Peter

7051.1 | tn3270 or SNAGAS ? | UTRTSC::VELZEN | Pim van Velzen, CS/SSO Holland | Tue Mar 25 1997 11:27 | 19 |
No experience with TCP/IP connections to the Domain GTW, but. I have used V4.1 to connect via TCP/IP with the Peer Server without problems. There are a number of patches (PTF's), but I am not sure if I used/needed them for this functionality. Some of the PTF's are on refuge::[.rumba.office.mainframe]. I must have some other, somewhere. Basically there are two possibilities to connect via TCP/IP. The first one is using the telnet tn3270-protocol, by connecting to a tn3270_server. The second one is by using the SNAGAS-protocol (Digital only, works for DECnet too) to communicate with the Gateway. The second type only works with Rumba from Digital and not with the common Rumba as sold by Wall Data and their distributors. Which method are you using to connect and what (error-) message do you get or what happens ? /\Pim. | |||||

Cover Letter for DECnet/SNA Domain Gateway-ST V2.0 ECO Kit # 2 Problem Description ------------------- The DECnet/SNA Domain Gateway Release Notes contain a complete explanation of the fixes contained in this ECO. Listed below is a brief description them. o Fixed a hang with access routines connecting to the Domain Gateway. The problem was seen from Digital UNIX V4.0 and Windows NT systems. The IP "Do Not Fragment" indication was incorrectly interpreted by the Domain Gateway. The complete IP datagram was treated as a fragment, thus the infinite wait. Upgrade to ECO-02 for the fix. Hi, BOTH Rumba AND Digital Unix 4.0* applications had an issue with the domain gateway and TCP/IP. If your patch didn't fix it, drop us a note and let us know. Cindi |
