Hi Bill

The customer asks a more question.

When directory command are issued by VMS to MVS files,
What command are enter on MVS ?

He tries to examine the reason of error from IBM side.
So,he asks me this.

Thanks

    Takashi,

This question is for Lew! My guess is... DIR is a very
complicated effort on the IBM side for DTF. I say this
because results returned include files that are on
multiple volumes, catalogued or not, SMS managed or not,
HSM archived or not. It depends upon wildcarding, attributes
    you request, etc.

Looking back on this problem, the suggestions I mentioned earlier
still hold true. Netserver, logmask, SNA trace, IBM console messages
    from DTF subsystem.

hi,

i'm sorry but i do not recall ever seeing this thread til now !

please post version of MVS here and in an IPMT. if the MVS version
is supported by us then we will also need the info Bill has asked for.
include also a dump of the MVS/DTF region with the DTF internal trace
enabled.

by the way, does TRANS/DTF work properly ? that does not issue an implicit
directory as DCL COPY does.

thanks, lew

I explained the customer to this scenario that you advised this topic.
But he can't do because of his business situation.

So please teach me following questions (as a general case).

>When directory command are issued by VMS to MVS files,
>What command are enter on MVS ?

Thank you reply and sorry for poor English.

If this error can reproduce at customer site,I'll send that you advise.

He use DTF only "directory","copy"and"submit/remote" on MVS side.

Thanks and sorry for meager reply.
